The middleware of Aucxis is entirely based on EPCIS (Electronic Product Code Information Services),the standard which is applied to trace products in case of logistics movements. If necessary, Amaron will also make it possible to connect with the hospital information system (HIS) and the laboratory information system (LIS).Īucxis has a wide experience in the field of bar code and RFID technology. Amaron will use Workflower for that, an innovative platform which optimises patient, material and information flows throughout the different IT systems, on the basis of standard process notations (BPMN - Business Process Model and Notation). Integration specialist Amaron will supply the software to draw and then implement the processes. Unique solution for a better patient safety They were the only candidates who could offer standard-based ready-to-use tools in order to implement, realise and evaluate this project in a user friendly and the most efficient way. UZ Gent was impressed by Amaron’s and Aucxis’ offer. Through a public tender, UZ Gent was looking for a suitable partner to elaborate a solution for the electronic tracing of blood products, by means of bar code or RFID and in combination with process automation. The execution of this project started in September and will take approximately eight months. Together they will develop a proof of concept for tracing blood products on the emergency department. On 3 August 2015, UZ Gent hired the Belgian IT companies Aucxis and Amaron as consultants for tracing of blood products.
